This special day is my parent’s 35th year wedding anniversary. *Bliss* I have no idea what will dad be getting for mom. But i do know that my dad is sponsoring my mom’s 1 week trip to Korea this year, and that will be on da 14th May’07. By then, dad would be back from China as well. WhoO! Have a splendid holidays dad and mom! Poor me had YET and YET again missing out da chances to go on a travel with dad and mom. But good la, less expenses on travel without me tagging along:D But why i cannot go? Reason is very simple, see the updates:)
Gave both my dad and mom a kiss and wished them happy anniversary before i went out early in the afternoon. SWEET me:D
Updates here:
YES! YES! YES! I HAVE GOT A JOB!
Applied this job through C-Connect Consultant, and their client TANDBERG DATA ASIA employed me, given a job title called Asistant Engineer.
Infact i had started my 1st day of work with TANDBERG last Friday (30th March’07) when i am only applying this job on da 23rd March’07, and now I am offically employed as a full-time staff. That’s fast!
Met the HR for a brief and to look into da contract once again carefully before signed. Then, I was introduced to my fellow colleagues during my first day at TANDBERG, da production department. They are all female technicians and male engineers respectively. It seems like i’m the only AE there=/ Oh yes, not forgetting da Planner. She is young but quite big shot she seemed to be. *Fret* =P
Just first day only, i am told to do "data entry". Sounds easy, not at all. It is far apart from that typical office data entries. Should anything goes wrong, i will have to pack and go. The system that i will be touching MUST NOT break down, seriously. If not da whole production area will have to pause.
Things aren’t easy though, it really requires me to be conscious and alert at all times. First few months will definitely be an "agony". It is natural. I can’t escape to start from scratch. I believe i will get da hang of it:)
In da first place, i didn’t even know i was applying this job through an agent, only meeting Karin Leng (da C-Connect Consultant’s partner) at the 1st interview then realised it to be so. So da key point is, my pay is under thier pay roll (got such word meh?). Let me find out first.
To Dawn if you are reading this. Alot of thanks to you my dearest sis, for all da tips and all da guidelines to take note about. I really owe it to you. Glad that i did not let you down, after all:) *phew* Appreciate all da stuffs you gave me. Admire your sense of fashion, pretty clothes, quick-witted mind and intellectual. You have both looks and intelligent. I am so proud of you lah!
During da first interview at C-Connect, Karin was da one interviewed me. Didn’t market myself well as i expected to be because i was not able to think and speak well that day. Neither i was nervous nor anxiety, but rather easy. I just answer whatever i was asked and avoid saying senseless thing. Nevertheless, be sincere and humble throughout.
Typically after awhile my eyes starts to wander around, and i saw that there were actually other applicant’s forms beneath mine when Karin flips through all of them, there were like 8 to 10 of them. I thought my chances of getting da job is slim mainly because i am a FRESH GRADUATE afterall, with no working experience besides being an intern at ST before. Still … haha! I just went ahead to blah blah chit chat and laugh with her as i find she’s quite humour later.
I THOUGHT only. Da next day got a call from her and she arranged another interview for me with TANDBERG DATA this time. The same thing happened and i was given a one year contract later next day. I must say it is just pure lucky. Hmm …
meow meow had been there accompanying me those days. Keeps me looking at positive side like always. His support is unbeatable!
He is one SWEET darling who had waited for an hour plus just to let me feel heart warming at da 1st second with da full of supportive smile he gave after that i am done.
This is a one year contract basis kind of job, but it is not a bond. If i ever feels unhappy with da job or finds it so not suitable for me, i may terminate the contract only after 3 months and it must be within 2 weeks of notice.
Meanwhile, i will be all tied down with work le. This is indeed my first full-time job after interned. I am thankful to da person who recruit me and trust that i have a good working attitude. I am taking this real opportunity to picking up skills as much as possible. Experiencing what exactly da real working world is like. Don’t worry, I will take care:) Gonna turn in early from now onwards. Remember that everyday is a brand new day, people! Jia You!!
